Luce al Quadrato/Squared Light

Patrizia Lanna is a professional photographer working mainly in her territory, i.e. Genoa and Liguria, where she likes also to investigate less known or less obvious aspects of daily urban life. She has ranged from social problems to theatre lifSquared Lighte, from travel reportage to her collaboration with the UN in Africa, and through her “photographic journeys” she has always managed to highlight hidden and unexpected sides of human subjects or inanimate objects.
With her reportage Squared Light she deals with the narration of not very widespread sport, which is often considered as “minor” and “poor” – boxing  (with racing, it is the most deeply rooted sport in the origins of the human species). The ring is that of Celano Boxe Genova in Cornigliano, but it looks like the gyms in Harlem, New York, or in Boston and in Chicago. In these sturdy b&w shots you can perceive power, sweat, toil, grace of bodies and always passion.
